Eric Holder
Although 70 percent of Americans support voter-ID laws, Holder’s DOJ has attempted to block such legislation in Florida, Texas, and South Carolina. In Holder’s playbook, billy club-wielding, cracker-taunting Black Panthers in Philly don”t constitute voter intimidation, but requesting someone prove they”re a living American citizen will send potential voters running away from the polling booths in fear.
And despite the fact that record numbers of Americans support gun rights, Holder has for years agitated that we need to “brainwash people into thinking about guns in a vastly different way””in other words, “Let us take them from you, and then you’ll all be safe.”
In his lifelong quest to get guns out of Americans’ hands, he was apparently conscious on some level that the feds were helping run thousands of firearms into Mexico as part of Operation Fast and Furious. This turned around to bite him”and, I guess, by implication, all of his “people””in the ass when guns linked to Fast and Furious were allegedly used in the murders of US Border Patrol agent Brian Terry and Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent Jaime Zapata.
When questioned about Fast and Furious before Congress in May 2011, Holder said he”d only heard about the program a “few weeks“ earlier in the news.
As evidence mounted suggesting that Holder knew more than he”d admitted, the DOJ continued to withhold most of the 80,000+ documents Congress had requested to investigate the scandal. Last week, after less than ten percent of the requested documents had been released, Barack Obama cited executive privilege for the first time in his presidency, barring the further release of any relevant documents to Congress. Despite his campaign promises of transparency, Obama now inhabits the Opaque Zone.
Last December, as suspicions about the Attorney General’s integrity were mounting, Holder pulled out yet another Jack of Spades in his apparently bottomless deck of race cards and suggested that he and Obama were being persecuted not because of any potential misdeeds, but because of “the fact that we”re both African-American.”
Of course he did! The people who aren”t “his people” just can”t stand to see a black guy blah blah blah blah BLAH. No, we just can”t stand to see a black guy hiding behind the “you people just can”t stand to see a black guy” excuse anymore.
Although I’m not even sure who “my people” are anymore, Eric Holder has gone out of his way to make clear he ain”t my kind of people.
