What’s On Your Plate?

I tried meat grown in a lab. It tastes like ... well ... meat. I guess it is meat, but it's not grown the normal way. Scientists extract meat cells from an animal and then grow them in a bioreactor, much like ones you see in a brewery. There, the cells divide again and again until you get ... ...

The Power of Self-Interest

Politicians bash businesses. "Stop the greed!" shouts Sen. Bernie Sanders. Many Republicans are equally ignorant. When some Florida businesses raised prices in response to sudden demand during a crisis (a useful signaling device in a free market), Attorney General Pam Bondi called that ...

DOGE to the Rescue?

The Department of Government Efficiency has started making moves. The D.C. media are furious about his attempts to cut government agencies. But I take Elon Musk's side. More efficient government has been promised often. It's never happened. Instead, government just grew. Sen. Rand Paul ...

Victimhood U

Colleges went mad. They charge students big bucks and then make them feel guilty. My new video looks at a new documentary called "The Coddling of the American Mind." It persuasively suggests that today, young people are anxious and depressed because "adults" at their schools brainwashed ...

What it really does is pay lawyers to torture people who try to do useful things. Example: America needs minerals like ...

The Best of Life

I write this on Election Day. People are freaking out. "A Second Trump Administration Would Be a Carnival of Corruption and Greed," is a New York Times headline. "President Kamala Would Be a Disaster for the World," says The Telegraph. Wait. Take a breath. Yes, Donald Trump is an awful man who ...

Promoting Panic for Cash

The world must be getting so much worse! Activists protest everywhere. Listening to them, I'd think hate, homophobia, racism and environmental threats are at record highs. But it's not true. Despite our ugly election politics, for most people, life is better than ever. Our air and water are ...

Play Time/Jail Time

What does it take for a parent to get arrested? Surprisingly little. Scott and Heather Wallace of Hewitt, Texas, encourage their three boys to play outside on their own to build independence. One day, driving home from karate practice, 8-year-old Aiden misbehaved. So, half a mile from home, ...
