From reading Bildzeitung and even the moderately non-leftist Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, one might imagine that Germans are reacting against this rule of antifascist, antinational busybodies.  Almost daily I receive letters and email messages from German friends assuring me “€œein Rechtsruck steht uns bevor.”€ Everything is about to swing to the right. Unfortunately these Germans are missing what’s really going on. Decades of brainwashing, since the American Occupation after World War Two, when we imposed on a defeated country cultural Marxist “€œre-education,”€ have conditioned Germans to believe certain things.

First, they should not trust their own political judgment, since their entire collective past is full of would-be or genuine Nazis. The only moral salvation for Germans must come from those who humbled them, whether the Soviets or the Americans. By now German leaders are not real Germans but stand-ins for some imaginary world opinion, the World Zionist Congress, or the American media.

Second, Germans must do all they can to remove the monkey from their back by ceasing to be Germans. This can be brought about both by repopulating Germany with non-Germans and by merging their demoralized country with some world government. If all goes according to plan, Germany will soon be losing much of its sovereignty to the EU. Predictably of course the government has not even permitted its subjects to vote on this matter.

Rather than engaging in angry outbursts, most Germans seem to go along with this “€œpro-democratic”€ decision. Most of them have no interest in remaining German, and their large business enterprises are making English into the Amtssprache (language for discussing business). This tendency has not met in Germany with the same irritation it caused in France. Germans live with a rapidly declining native population and an official ideology of national self-hatred, and most of them apparently have no desire to remain German, politically or linguistically.

This can be shown in the way Germans are expressing their electoral preferences in polls, as recorded by the German press agency (DPA). If a national election were held this week, the biggest gainer would be the ultra-PC Greens, with 17% of the vote. The retread Stalinists in the PDS, who are now featuring a mix of multiculturalism and Communist economics, would poll 10%. The CDU Union is holding at 32% and the Social Democrats at 31%. There is no significant support for any party to the right of the CDU Union, which represents fully the antinational, multicultural ideology of the German Left. The Greens, to whom the Germans are now swarming, would, if possible, flood Germany with Third world immigrants. Moreover, its leader Claudia Roth deplores the fact that Sarrazin has not yet been tried as a criminal given his published fascist opinions. So much for the imaginary Rechtsruck, which might only happen if the Germans had their brains laundered a second time.

During the summer there was talk of organizing a German classical liberal party, with a patriotic edge, the Freiheitspartei, as a reaction to the leftward rush of Merkel and her followers. A disillusioned member of the CDU and author, Rene Stadtkewitz, was instrumental in laying the groundwork for this new force, and Stadtkewitz tried to draw into his project such conservatively inclined politicians as Friedrich Merz, a onetime high-ranking CDU functionary whom Merkel pushed out of his position as party whip. No prominent CDU member, however, would join the Freiheitspartei on the grounds they didn”€™t want to “divide the Right.” But as Stadtkewitz noted, there is nothing in the party leadership or in Merkel’s public statements that should give any cause for optimism to the Right or to anyone who values freedom. Unfortunately there is no German Right, outside of isolated skinheads who have not yet been sent to jail, or aged retired professors, or the editorial boards of certain magazines with depressingly limited circulations. But if present trends continue to unfold, there may soon be no more Germans, as opposed to Third World people inhabiting Central Europe, and sterile robots speaking broken English and apologizing for their real or imaginary ancestors.
