LifeSite’s reporter helpfully visited the striptease troupe’s website so you don”t have to:
One of Boylesque’s performances includes an Adolf Hitler character stripping naked while displaying Nazi swastikas on his nipples. One performance involving Lorsch is titled “The Royal Canadian Mount-Me Police.”
Lorsch resigned from Free the Children after LifeSite’s story appeared.
If nothing else, this story certainly makes for a nice change from all the ones about straights being hounded out of jobs by Big Gay, Inc. Weirdly, neither Canada’s mainstream press nor its gay media outlets have picked this story up yet, perhaps to passive-aggressively express their disgust for LifeSiteNews.
Another story that received far more attention involved a confrontation at Mayor Rob Ford’s latest annual Fordfest picnic. Now, non-Canadians need to understand that despite (or perhaps because of) his long list of screw-ups, Mayor Ford remains quite popular within Toronto’s suburban black, Asian, Hindu, and other nonwhite communities.
Such folks showed up to his yearly free barbecue in enthusiastic droves, as always.
However, this year a “group of LGBT activists” also came to Fordfest, to “stage a “Queeruption.“”
This party-pooping provocation saw the “queers” theatrically hugging each other and “joking” that they were there to “convert” the Ford voters” children.
This … did not go over well at all.
I put “joking” in quotation marks up there for a reason.
Michael Lorsch’s extra-Boylesque-ular activities may very well be harmless fun. But I”m not the one implying, as he has, that his stripping and his “facilitating” were both examples of his save-the-world activism and “shameless idealism.”
I prefer cynicism, myself. That’s why I warn anybody who will listen:
No one is ever “just kidding.”
