I hate to start the year with a horror story, but Takimag readers must be told of the hellhole where it took place: New York City, once upon a time the best place to live and have fun in, now accurately described as a dangerous shithole. Actually it’s the people who have turned awful. A homeless woman is asleep in a subway car when she’s set alight by an illegal animal from Guatemala, and up she goes in flames and is burnt to death. And yes, she’s surrounded by other riders who watch her burn, but instead of helping her they film her death throes on their mobiles. And there’s also a cop around who does nothing.

Words fail to describe the disgust I felt for my fellow man when I read this. The illegal migrant who set her on fire had already been deported during Trump’s first term but got back in while Biden was busy ruining the country. Shoplifters, drug dealers, and violent repeat offenders are now the norm among the thousands of illegal migrants Biden let in, while the Police Department is gutted by a series of scandals involving top cops, all of them black or Hispanic. Ever since the halcyon days of Rudy Giuliani, the Bagel has been going downhill, prioritizing criminals over victims, the “coddle a criminal” culture prevailing in Noo Yawk.

Diversity courses in universities teach students theories that enhance understanding of our diverse society. In other words, students are taught they could be oppressors because of their race, sex, or religion. They also learn about the needs and beliefs of minorities and that whites are dominant over other colors and that men are dominant over women and transgender people. That’s all well and good, I suppose, but what about teaching that when they witness a horrible crime like the burning of a defenseless woman to try to save her instead of filming the crime for the kiddies back home?

These are the same people who’d also film starving Gaza children and probably comment about their limbs being thinner than “the matches we use to light our candles at Christmas.” Mind you, the last man to help stranded passengers in a New York subway who were being threatened by a drugged-out black bum, the ex-Marine Daniel Penny, a white man, grabbed the hoodlum and immobilized him with a choke hold. The maniac died while struggling to get free, most likely because of the drugs he had ingested, while the brave Marine was rewarded for his bravery by being charged by the black New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg with murder. Daniel Penny was declared innocent after eight weeks in court. See what I mean about New Yorkers choosing to film rather than act?

In a time when morality and religion have been all but eradicated by our leaders, Daniel Penny types are not exactly a dime a dozen. At the same time Daniel was being declared innocent, a cowardly murderer shoots an unarmed man in the back and is glorified as a folk hero by the mindless morons who seem to dominate the digital world. Luigi Mangione, the shooter, has become a hero of sorts for his looks and for all the wrong reasons. He is a domestic terrorist, nothing more, but the troglodytes who texted nonstop about his looks are living proof of what is wrong with today’s culture. A former female New York Times reporter, Taylor Lorenz, posted that she felt joy upon learning of Brian Thompson’s murder, indicating how low mainstream journalism has sunk in America.

And what about the victim, Brian Thompson? Unlike the shooter, who came from a privileged background and attended top schools in the East, Thompson grew up in a working-class family in Iowa, his mother a beautician, his dad working in a grain store. Brian spent his childhood going row by row through the fields killing weeds with a knife, or working manual labor at turkey and hog farms. Thompson worked himself up the ladder and became CEO of UnitedHealthcare and left a wife and children and other family members to read how the killer has been elevated to folk-hero status. This is so outrageous that yet again I am at a loss for words.

There is no good news except that the killer will die in jail. At least I hope so. But you never know. After O.J. Simpson’s brutal murder of two human beings in cold blood was followed by his exoneration by an antiwhite jury, everything is possible in the land of the addicted. I even read a quip by some wit about Mangione and his six-pack: “If the guy is fit, you must acquit.” America should be ashamed.
