Many claim that any anti-Trump violence is a justifiable reaction to Trump’s allegedly “racist” comments. This is rendered absurd when one ponders the following comments by Mexican supremacists:

He is the ugly American, he is the hated gringo, because he’s attacking all of us, he’s offending all of us. Imagine, I mean that could take us to a war. Spitting bile as he films himself while driving, a black YouTuber who calls himself The Doctor Of Common Sense asks some eminently sensible questions:

Why is it acceptable for people who come from other damn countries to be proud of their country, but if an American who is proud of the American flag is deemed “€œracist”€? Why are you here if you”€™re so proud of Mexico? Nobody else wants to say it, but Mexico is a fucking hell-hole. They come over here and use our system because of our weak-ass politicians. Mexican pride this, and Mexican pride that. Then why the hell are you over here? Stop the bullshit. If I was saying a country was so great, I wouldn”€™t have my ass in another country screaming about how great that country is that I ran away from!

The most cogent answer I could find about the roots of Mexican pride come from a commenter on Yahoo!:

Mexicans are proud to be mexicans. You know why? Because we are mexicans.

So you’re proud to be Mexican because you’re Mexican. OK, this is all becoming much clearer.

Until I see a better reason for Mexican pride beyond “It’s because we’re Mexican,” I will continue to suspect that your violent pride is of the defensive sort. Based on the facts, on your behavior, and on the absence of a believable alibi, I will assume that your so-called “pride” is rooted not in pride but in its opposite”€”shame.

But I will attempt to remain open-minded. I know you’re proud. But I don’t know why. Please Mexplain it for me.
