Kate Hudson is adding one more to her brood. The actress and her rock star boyfriend, Muse frontman Matthew Bellamy, are expecting a baby. The couple has been dating for nine months. Hudson and ex-husband Chris Robinson have a 7-year-old son Ryder. Wonder what the kids will name their future band?
Meanwhile, the rest of her family isn’t jumping for joy. Hudson’s mom, Goldie Hawn, is likely fuming with the news that her long-ago ex is now shopping around a tell-all about their life. Bill Hudson (who’s been estranged from his daughter Kate) is writing a book So You Are a Star about an actress who enjoys “open relationships” and “limiting access to their children.” The couple’s been divorced since 1979; isn’t it time to let sleeping dogs lie?
Camille and Kelsey Grammer are taking their very public divorce to a whole new level. On a recent episode of Real Housewives filmed months ago, the bottle-blonde reality star toasted to their 13-year marriage—despite knowing Kelsey wanted out. She’s also spilling about meeting Kelsey’s new fiancée, saying “It was a little uncomfortable at first,” but then she thought “’She’s OK. She’s nice.” She also joked to Howard Stern about Frasier’s possible cross-dressing. Kelsey, for his part, got a high-profile Letterman interview where he dropped a bomb: Despite his divorce not being final yet, he’ll be getting remarried in February.
The rumor mill’s churning that boldfaced names Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes may skip the Oscars because of hard feelings. Academy Awards co-host Anne Hathaway mocked Katie on Saturday Night Live a few months ago, leaving a bad taste in their mouths. But what better way to one-up the co-host than by walking the red carpet—and possibly mocking her back?
Men around the world, rejoice. Shakira and her boyfriend of 11 years have broken up. Antonio de la Rua, who’s also the singer’s agent, has always kept a low profile, and the couple issued a statement saying their split was “temporary” and they will continue to “work together hand in hand.”
If Shakira needs a new wingwoman, Keira Knightley might have some free time. She and Rupert Friend also announced the end of their relationship this week. They met on the set of Pride and Prejudice in 2005 and the split is blamed on “distance and career.” Let’s start lining up the single bachelors now.
Only Martha Stewart could turn a trip to the ER into a prime PR opportunity. The domestic doyenne leaned down to “whisper goodbye” to her dog Francesca when the pet pup jumped up and split her lip. She posted a 34-picture gallery on her site of her stitched lip and diligent plastic surgeon—and hundreds of news outlets picked up her story. (For the record, Martha’s just fine.)
Lady Gaga can now afford a much bigger closet for all those heels. The pop star’s expected to earn $100 million this year, according to Forbes. This comes after she took in $64 million in 2010. The huge pay day stems from her six-month tour and new album “Born This Way,” out in May.
Resident TV diva Lea Michele is apologizing for snubbing the charming young True Grit actress who asked her for her autograph. Hailee Steinfeld says she cried when the Glee star was ushered away by a production assistant when both actresses were on the same set. Lea now says Hailee’s “an extraordinary talent and I look forward to meeting her one day.” Cue the photo op.
Here’s one story The Huffington Post didn’t cover. Site founder Arianna Huffington pissed off the man sitting next to her on an airplane when she didn’t turn her BlackBerry off fast enough. She kept chatting and texting after flight attendant warnings to turn off all electronic devices, which led the man to jump up and ask Huffington if she spoke English. Both passengers were briefly detained after the flight landed, but Arianna didn’t seem the least bit peeved.
In boy band news, A.J. McLean from the Backstreet Boys is heading back to rehab before the group goes out on tour this spring. The heavily tatted singer tweeted he wants to be “healthy and perform and sing for people at my very best and happiest.” It’ll be his third rehab stint since 2001.
Legend has it Sting and longtime wife Trudie Styler have a spicy life in the bedroom. They’re adding fuel to the fire with a steamy Harper’s Bazaar photo shoot where the two look far, far younger than their ages, in only the best ways.
